Native American Ethnobotany Database
Search this database to see actual plant uses by tribal communities and cultures across North America. One can find all the tribes that used a particular plant (such as cranberry, Canada Anemone, or by scientific name-Vaccinium macrocarpon, Anemone canadensis). The medicinal plant function is very useful to academics and researchers.
This database was created long ago by Dr. Dan Moerman, retired professor from University of Michigan-Dearborn. He published several books on the topic and was ahead of his time creating this exhaustive database online, free, original reference citations. He was a member of the Society of Ethnobiology
